When two (or more) people are working at desks that are close to each other, enough so that you can hide all the comings and goings of the phone, electrical and phone cords, switch their telephone cords. Now, we noticed that this doesn’t work that well when you have the fancy phones that show your name on a screen, etc., but if your office is a little old school, it shouldn’t be an issue.
Picture it, the first time the phone rings at one desk, it will actually be for the other person… it could be hours of hearing “sorry, you have the wrong extension” and watching them try to transfer to the “correct” number only to have it come back at them, over and over again.
